Sd2Snd - a simple program which converts a Sound Designer II file to a System 7 sound resource.
This was a very quick hack and hasn't been thoroughly tested so use it with caution and let me know if you have any problems. It has virtually no user interface - you just double click on it, it asks for a Sound Designer II file to convert and then for a destination file. If you specify a destination file which does not already exist then it will create a new System 7.0 sound suitcase for you. If you specify an existing file it will ask you if you want to replace the existing file - you can ignore this message - it won't actually replace the file, it will just add the resource to the existing file without affecting it in any other way, so you can use this method to put multiple sound resources into the same file. If I ever get any more time to work on this I'll make it a nicer, drag and drop, batch converter.
Minimum requirements - System 7.0, Sound Manager 3.0, a Mac with a 68020/68881.
File formats - Sd2Snd should work with any sample rate, sample size, mono or stereo, etc, but I have only tested it with 16 bit, stereo, 44.1 kHz so far.
Memory - to convert a sound file of a given size, Sd2Snd will need at least twice that amount of memory to do the conversion, so if you want to convert a 1 Mb Sound Designer II file then you should give Sd2Snd a little more than a 2 Mb partition to work with.
